Still can’t believe we’ve come to an end in this program. I am glad to be a part of this amazing journey. From this last reflection session, I would like to answer several questions.

● As a front end/data student, what did I know 6 weeks ago and what do I know now?

Data is not really in my path before Generasi GIGIH program because I was more into UI/UX, so its fair to say that I don’t have any knowledge or interest on data analysis before. But since my internship with my teammate, we discussed a lot about data analysis and visualization, I feel like I really need to learn about it and feel so curious about it. Since its too late to learn it in college because I was already graduate, this program came in handy.

The beginner level was easy for me since I already learn about SQL in college and understand enough to know the basic of Python. And this intermediate level happen. I was mind-blowing. The mentors, the classmate, the material given have open my eyes wide open that I knew nothing before but now I feel like my brain is full with data analyst stuff for this past 2 months.

There are so many things that I am glad I learned from this program, like what exactly is data analyst, the type of it, how to do analysis, create the document analysis, create a data visualization, and also relearn about SQL and python. I also like the discussion part during every technical session, because I really like to see how the mentor’s or my classmates’ perspective on doing analysis. From them, I learn enough experience to see problem on many different perspective.

● What skills have I developed in the past 6 weeks? What skills do I need to develop now? (refer to your technical skill, English skill, and soft skill)

From technical class I would like to say that I have developed my interest in creating data/business analysis document and data visualization, BUT I still need more practice in data visualization especially in making in more beautiful and easy to understand. From the English class, I’d like to say that I well understand about all the materials given but its nice to relearn and now I am more comfortable in speaking English and writing in English like this one. From the IDP class and XLFL webinar, I learned a lot on how to prepare my self for my job opportunity and how to have long-term plan for yourself. I believed that I still need to expertise my skill in speaking one-on-one like in the interview and also in having an initiative.

● What good habits did you learn by joining GenerasiGIGIH?

Despite all the benefit I got from Generasi GIGIH, I got myself some self-development. From this program, I likely become more organized. I have a better time-management during this program. And since I knew a lot of better people here in this program, I am becoming a more curious person that like to dig more about the material given.

● In percentage, measure how your learning process in GenerasiGIGIH have
improved your chance to be hired or employed in your aspired field? Tell us your evidence.

Surprisingly, A little bit experience from my internship and 2 months of learning in Generasi GIGIH have made me confident enough to apply job in data analyst field. I created a portfolio about what have I done in this field especially from all the homework/project that have been given from this program. And thankfully, I finally got my first job as a junior analyst. In the interview session, they asked me what have I known about data analysis and since I just learned it and still remember what I’ve got and done, I told them everything I knew and they seem impressed. I still can’t believe this happen, If its not because of Generasi GIGIH I know I never be at this point of my life.

● At the end of this technical class, are you proud of yourself? Why or Why not?

So, Its 50:50. I liked to say that I am 50% proud of myself that I have come to a point that I finally knew a lot of things about data analysis and working on some projects. I am proud that I finally step out of my comfort zone and learn many new things. But I believe that 50% of me still need many improvements, I still lack of initiative on asking questions and still far behind everyone or just my classmates that have learned or mastered in this field before me. So I believe that I still need to improve my self in this technical skill so I can be better that who I am today.

Thank you so much to Generasi GIGIH that has given me opportunity in this intermediate program and given me chance to explore myself on finding my path. I learned a lot from here and I never be thankful enough. So now lets start on working my best for the final project. Ciao xx 👋
